Robert “Bob” Kamena has been providing services to the community for more than a quarter century.

​

Creative Life Solutions is introducing Thomas Gordon’s internationally acclaimed Parent Effectiveness Training (P.E.T.) and Be your Best training. Creative Life Solutions also provides independent living skills instruction and support services to Developmentally Disabled Alta California Regional clients, so that they can live independently in the community.

Bob has been a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC II) in good standing with the State of California since 1994. Bob is currently affiliated with CADTP as a Substance Use Disorder Certified Counselor III. In 1995 Bob was a primary creator of EL Dorado County’s first collaborative Co-occurring treatment program between a private 501 c3 not for profit company and county mental health system.

In 1997 Bob began to work for El Dorado County, as a Mental Health Case Manager/Mental Health Worker. He has also served as an on call Psychiatric Crisis Worker in the Mental Health Department for 15 years. Bob is trained and using the current best practices of ASAM (American Society of Addiction Medicine), the gold standard for assessing, placement criteria, and Motivational Interviewing.

Bob continues to refine his skills with diverse populations including probation and parole clients reentering the community. He is in service to his community as a trained Brain Spotter, Community Emergency Response Team member, as a Substance Use Disorder Certified Counselor III, Life Skills Instructor, Health Education Coordinator, Mental Health First Aid instructor, Trained MRT Facilitator, advocate of ACE’s. Bob is a Gateway Intervention Professional, and a Parent Effectiveness Trainer.

suzanne miller

Suzanne has 25 years of serving families and individuals within the many diverse populations of El Dorado County. Including but not limited to serving; individuals with Developmental Disability, Mental Health Disability, Substance Use Disorder, and Survivors of Domestic Violence, Cancer and other medical patients with chronic diagnosis. Suzanne supports these individuals by teaching skills to reenter community, to create independence, providing support services and referrals to other support agencies.

Suzanne loves her family, and family is very important to her, Suzanne believes in  PET  and how it really works. She has taught and uses the skills with her family. She has 2 daughters, 2 sons, 4 grandsons, 3 granddaughters, and 1 great grandson. As a family we have experienced how this system has created more collaborative  cooperative relationships within our family. We all thrive to use these skills in all our relationships as a family, we see the positive affect it has had.

Suzanne continues to work within her community providing services. She continues her training to improve her knowledge to be up on how to best help the individuals that she supports. Suzanne is trained in and uses Person Centered Thinking and Planning,  End of Life Planning, Understanding Childhood Developmental Disorders, Community Building,  Autism Training, Domestic Violence Crisis Training, and ACES (Adverse Childhood Experiences). Suzanne is trained in Brain Spotting, and also maintains Family Systems Certification, Interventionist GI Certification,  and Certification providing Gordon International’s Parent Effectiveness Training.

Suzanne and her husband Bob are excited to be introducing Dr. Thomas Gordon’s internationally acclaimed “Parent Effectiveness Training (P.E.T.) to our community.
